Greenless Acres

What would Bush like to do to our farmers, you ask?

_Propose slicing farmers' federal payments and other agriculture supports by $587 million in 2006 and $5.7 billion over the next decade. Payments to producers would drop by 5 percent, and the current $360,000 annual ceiling on those payments would be cut to $250,000.

I didn't realize you liberals were so Pro-Corporation.

78% of farm subsidies go to 8% of farmers, that 8% are the large-scale agribusiness corporations. There is a reason Agriculture Secretary Johanns of Nebraska and Senator Grassley of Iowa, both of whom were raised on family farms, are in favor of cuts.

We aren't an agrarian society, we need to stop acting like one.
